I threw a tea party once in high school. That was pretty rad.
It was my best friend's birthday, and I wanted to do something special for her. I spent way too much money on it for a high school friend's birthday party, no matter how good it looked. We didn't invite very many people; we wanted to keep it very personal, but half of our best friends didn't even show up (I'm pretty sure our friend group fell apart right after this)
It ended up being over 100 degrees that day too, so as soon as our shade ran out, we were all dying, and no one wanted to do anything. The party got cut short.
I made a centerpiece, little triangle sandwiches, cake balls, scones, freshly squeezed lemonade, and little cookies.
I made her a flower crown, bought her a sun hat, and we all pitched in to buy her a tea set.
Overall, I put a lot of work into it. I took three months to plan it and I pulled an all nighter to get all the food cooked. In the end, not everything on my menu made it out. I tried making petite fours, but the cake mix I used was ten years old and baked into a chalky substance. An hour before the party, I had to call my friend in tears, begging her to show up early so she could help me get everything out in time. There's only one picture of me from that morning though, and you can just see the bags under my eyes.
The next party I throw (like that will ever happen.) better turn out better than this one though.

Wow I think it looks awesome!
